Thanks Rich, this is the best site on the net. David Good idea. I setup Outlook 2010 with text functionality a while back (only 100 sms free trial) and it looked/worked great. (Started draft post)

(Started draft post) If you don't mind opening a browser you can just use Google Voice. I believe you don't need an invite anymore, and there are no limits on how many messages you can send. It also has a robust voicemail feature you can integrate on to your current phone.

With the capabilities of laptops reaching equivalent to desktops, a topic comparing the pros and cons between laptops against desktops would help many decide what suites best their needs.

If you could, I would like to have you go into a topic I discovered: Configuring the Extensible Counter List... I think that this is another performance tweak but I can't find info as to any performance improvments or problems that might result from changes. Here is the link to download the utility that does the configuration: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=7ff99683-b7ec-4da6-92ab-793193604ba4&displaylang=enAnd here is a screen capture of the GUI: Attachment: 9-6-2010 10-48-07 AM.jpg On my PC, these are the counters listed: .NET CLR Data netfxperf.dll .NET CLR Networking 4.0.0.0 netfxperf.dll .NET CLR Networking netfxperf.dll .NET Data Provider for etfxperf.dll ..NET Memory Cache 4.0 Not Found .NETFramework donotload_mscoree.dll BITS bitsperf.dll DFSR Not Found EmdCache %systemroot%\system32\emdmgmt.dll ESENT %systemroot%\system32\esentprf.dll Lsa Secur32.dll MSDTC Bridge 3.0.0.0 NETFXPerf.dll MSDTC Bridge 4.0.0.0 NETFXPerf.dll MSDTC msdtcuiu.DLL MSSCNTRS %systemroot%\system32\msscntrs.dll Outlook C:\PROGRA~2\MI1933~1\Office12\OLMAPI32.DLL PerfDisk perfdisk.dll PerfNet perfnet.dll PerfOS perfos.dll PerfProc perfproc.dll PNRPsvc %SystemRoot%\system32\pnrpperf.dll PolicyAgent %SystemRoot%\System32\ipsecsvc.dll PSched pacerprf.dll RemoteAccess rasctrs.dll ServiceModelEndpoint 3.0.0.0 NETFXPerf.dll ServiceModelOperation 3.0.0.0 NETFXPerf.dll ServiceModelService 3.0.0.0 NETFXPerf.dll SMSvcHost 3.0.0.0 NETFXPerf.dll SMSvcHost 4.0.0.0 NETFXPerf.dll Spooler winspool.drv TapiSrv tapiperf.dll Tcpip Perfctrs.dll TermService perfts.dll UGatherer %systemroot%\system32\msscntrs.dll UGTHRSVC systemroot%\system32\msscntrs.dll Usbhub %SystemRoot%\system32\usbperf.dll WmiApRpl %systemroot%\system32\wbem\wmiaprpl.dll WSearchIdxPi %systemroot%\system32\tquery.dll
From what little info I can find, disabling counters saves processing but I can't find any info as to how much, if it is worth it or what problems might arise. Thank you... Update: Thanks for your suggestion. Did you find out much more about this? No how to guide would do this topic justice! I'm waving the white flag on explaining this one Thanks again. [Rich]

More information: http://mintywhite.com/more/competitions ... win-prize/ I think u must start a topic or competition like "Trick of the Week" or "Tip of the Week" or "Hack of the Week" n mintywhiters 'll perform in the competition Update: This is another thing I'll implement; however, I believe this is something that should start in the forums. Once there's traction, we'll go from there [Rich]
