18MB's aint too bad! its the upload thats terrible :(

Yeah 18 down is good but the ratio of Up/Down isn't good. It seems they are really throttling upload.

Or

http://www.speedtest.net/

I get 26 MBp/s Up and 25MBp/s Up.... It works ok for me..

Regards

It is a good information about internet speed.........
Like the same way , i check my internet speed everyday..........both downloading & uploading speed through this site http://www.scanmyspeed.com/
My speed test results are,
upload speed:0.52 kbps
download speed:1.96 kbps
It has the best & accurate results for my internet speed test and i download it without flash or java or any other add on..........

What make you think it has the best accurate test when millions of test engineers and professions use the ones I sent you? Nothing wrong with Flash/Java, it's used to get the best location and pinpoint where to send the ping to and from... the CO (Central Office).

.52Kbps up and 1.96kbps is terrible....

The link you have is giving me a totally different reading of both 5.6Mbps or equivalent to around .6MBps.... That's inaccurate. I've speed to the ISP Engineers and they don't even recommend the link you used, seems like a fishy speed test... When I download files from the internet, using iPerf with CLI, I get 3 to 4MBps download speed while downloading files through my laptop.... I am using a 4 x 4 WiFi chip set thus giving me a faster speed then a 3 x 3 chipset...

So, I honestly believe your link is not accurate in my opinion...

Doesn't seem anything wrong with the links.

Here's my speed according to speedtest.net:
http://gyazo.com/c1c21b808ce312f86e11c55d900a3f77

Here's my speed according to scanmyspeed.com:
http://gyazo.com/c78f5d7df556314cdd5c4cbc24a68260

Seems pretty accurate to me. Also shows Flash/Java is not required and the nearest server doesn't need to be acquired.

I'm not saying that Flash/Java is needed... I never said that... I just said that they are used to give a calculated points of where to ping, and send data, etc...

It's not accurate for me, if you know how to calculate raw data, especially iPerf, it can make a differences...

So, from Speedtestnet

And Scanmypc

I failed to see the accuracy of the two....

Again, Flash/Java or none... it shouldn't make a difference... However, it depends on where the site originated...

Strangely, the Scanmyspeed uses routed information to Godaddy... LOL
