 Post subject: network adapter driver
New postPosted: Mon Mar 21, 2016 2:37 pm

Hello, I am trying to reinstall windows7 on a HP Pavilion laptop. The original partition did not work. So I used my installation disc. Now I keep getting a message that I need the network driver. I've used my disc a few times and never any problems(I actually have done the reinstall twice).I've tried to go to Microsoft download A-Z I can't find the driver. Thanks for your help, Stan

For this post the author chiefcomputergeek has received gratitude : Bikrdad

Best site to find drivers for your laptop is from computer manufacturer's website. support.hp.com
You will have to locate drivers specific to your model.
On bottom of laptop (or possibly underneath battery) will be the product number, a serial number and the possibly product name.
Typically you can search the HP support site using one of these to find the drivers specific to your model and operating system. In addition to network card drivers, I suggest you install chipset drivers first, (if listed) and you may need video or other drivers as well. Check Device Manager to see what other drivers are missing.
hope this is helpful.
Best wishes.
A.J.

Hello, great advise, but because of no net work adapter I can't get on line to go to HP. Thanks again, Stan

If you can get a similar laptop and download the driver there then transfer o your laptop.
check DriverPack Solution
https://drp.su/index.htm
you have to download it on another desktop and burn to dvd then boot on your laptop.

try sfc /scannow
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833

Open the System Maintenance troubleshooter
