For this post the author Stu has received gratitude : Rich

I got this email literally 1 minute ago;
Attachment:
Microsoft Windows 7 RC Upgrade Information.zip

It’s time to upgrade from the Windows 7 Release Candidate

While most people who tested Windows 7 have now moved to the final version, some are still running the Release Candidate. If you haven’t moved yet, it’s time to replace the RC.

Starting on March 1, 2010 your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Your work will not be saved during the shutdown.

Download the zip folder and double click the MHTML file inside, it'll open up in your browser for you to read.

Be warned!

EDIT:
If this leaves you in the lurch, see this article for a temporary workaround: Thanks goes to randomchaos for pointing this out :)

Yes, get Ubuntu.

I tried RC7 but Windows is so unreliable that the first 2 times I saw the expired-RC BSOD I ran Windows debugger on it, which blamed an Intel network driver... Unbelievable!

Ubuntu does most things better, looks better too and is improving faster. Why bother with Windows?

Yep, Ubuntu or Kubuntu are nice (finnish!) OS, but sadly they dosen't support all applications.
I upgraded my Windows 7 some time ago...
But I still think that W7 is better than linux

I use Ubuntu daily (it works a lot better with my web servers for file transfer, CRON tasks etc.); however, I cannot be without Windows 7; there's far too much software that I've tried the Linux alternate of and still can't switch:

To back up my claim a little:

Google Chrome 4
Bitvise Tunnelier (much easier through a GUI than any linux attempt or command line.)
Notepad++
SnagIT
VMWare Workstation

(Just went through my "pinned" items.) While there are linux alternatives to all these programs, they just don't cut it for me, personally.

I'm with you there Rich, i had an affair with Ubuntu not long ago. Whilst i liked it, i found i spent more time tweaking the OS to run properly than i did actually using it. The amount of time i spent on ubuntuforums was ridiculous too.
OpenSUSE is the best distro i've tried so far. It Beats Ubuntu hands down. One more thing; WINE is NO substitute for Windows!

Agree all the way and yes, I feel like I'm contributing to global warming with the amount of queries I run on Google to figure out how to do something simple with Linux haha.

Usually I am using Ubuntu but regarding this the interface is very simple, and yet it gives you the functionality of a lot of the expensive to-do helpers out there, including support for multiple people working on a project and special tools for procrastinators!
