Post subject: Problem Looking For Credential Tiles
New postPosted: Mon Mar 21, 2011 12:24 pm

I used UAC tweaker, I think it was version 1.0 from the Windows Club. Soon after, or sometime around then for the standard user account in vista my computer says "Looking For Credential Tiles" for about 5 seconds at least before allowing me to put in a password. If I use an admin rights account I don't have this problem because I can just click yes. I upgraded to Windows Seven and still had this problem.

Various things I've tried:
-Adding new/removing user accounts...
-Some users have had this problem occuring from fingerprint scanning services, looked at that, and disabling enabling services.
-Looked under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System and verified the settings with a computer that works. http://www.sevenforums.com/system-secur ... s-7-a.html

Does anybody have any suggestions?

I'm on Windows 7, 32bit

Thanks for your time and help.

Some people have had success by uninstalling DigitalPersona and/or other fingerprint software.

For this post the author Rick has received gratitude : rico

I believe this may not be corrected but it doesn't hurt to try...

Also, any use/misuse of tweaking tool can cause problems because they are not always reputable...

Check the link out...

Looking through the forum, they mentioned HKLM SECURITY - cache, however I am unable to access the security key in safe mode or as admin so that might be part of the problem, I forgot to mention I'm on home premium as well. Update: To access the permission, I brought up the context menu and gave myself permissions. Didn't help.

I honestly believe, if I'm not wrong, is that Win 7 Home Premium does not have the Meats and potatoes of Win 7 Ultimate because Home Premium is just a basic system with a lack thereof.....

I don't have Premium to actually test and figure out.... That's why I opted to get the Ultimate version.. It only cost me $199 through eBay OEM... I am happy with it... Retails cost an arm/leg...

I found something else that may or may not be related to the problem.
When I go to control user passwords2 not all of the users show up?
I am also wondering why this info is hard to look up on the web, wrong keywords?

False alarm/didn't help
Got all the usernames to show up now so thats not it, made it so have to type in password for now and made sure the standard user was 'other' radio button as a regular user and changed its password and am able to change the type by loging in as an admin user, so that appears to have nothing to do with it.

Also looked in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
but couldn't find anything too unusual... will continue to dig on and off
