I have a desktop icon problem too. Any shortcut I place on the desktop is covered with that ugly "default" icon. I ran that "Icon Cache Rebuilder" as instructed and the problem still exists. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Please don't double-post and wait for an answer to your first post (which has happened btw). Thank you.
