 Post subject: Backup software to USB drive needed
New postPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 8:26 am

I'm coming from Win XP where I used Iomega BackupPro to an external HDD for daily file and folder backups. I understand this program won't work in Win7. Moreover, the Win7 native backup does not help me because I have lots of email (Eudora 7) and database (Palm Desktop) files in Program Files (x86) which it will not handle. I also don't want compressed backups, but straightforward incremental backups that I can drag and drop to restore individually if necessary.

Is there any software that will do this on Win7--let you choose not just folders but also discrete individual files including those within Program Files and let you schedule those as uncompressed incremental backups?

Thanks in advance...

How much space do you need? Mozy gives you 2GB and you can manually select the files you want to back up. The files are not compressed and are backed up incrementally.

If you need >2GB and don't want to back up the files online, GFI BackUp freeware is something I've used in the past without issues. Last time I used it, GFI will let you select individual files.

@MAX SyncUp for your needs.

P/S/ The program recovers the files (as compressed as well uncompressed) individually.

Try Handy Backup 7. It works well under Windows 7 and has tons of plug-ins for working with emails and databases.
