You flashed the BIOS to fix that bug? You is craaaaaazy!

I didn't, the Dell rep did

I'll update BIOS in the first couple of weeks (thank goodness BIOS is dead/dying) but, after that, I want to know everything that's changed before I update it on hardware I rely on. To this point, I've never updated the BIOS on any of my computers outside the 30-day return policy. I don't find it inherently risky per se but it's just a sensitive process and difficult to roll back.
So, as a side note, be sure to read the entire changelog before updating. You may find "Updated to speed up fan 20% under heavy load" is not worth the update if you just use the PC to check email. Also, if there is no changelog, consider a different OEM next time.
With that said, I'm glad your laptop is working as expected now.
Rich, to be very honest I never ever updated a BIOS in my life. When the Dell rep said that he is gonna do that, I was like whoa ! We were on a screen sharing session and he did it faster than I could have done it. I hardly think the BIOS solved the problem...but lastly thank God it's working alright.
