New postPosted: Tue Jan 18, 2011 5:57 pm

Hello,
I have install Win7 Ultimate on VMWare player. I could not run audio files or DVD as audio drivers are not installed. Is there a site from where I can download? I am looking for free downlaod.
Thanks

Did you install VMWare tools on the guest OS? Most DVD drives will work just fine with VMWare. If they're not installed, please install them and report back.

I think what he meant is that he cannot run DVD files because his audio drivers are not installed. It's got nothing to do with the DVD drive.
@ TS, have you checked on the manufacturer website? Anyway, if you'll type the correct search terms on google, numerous drivers download sites will pop up and most of them offer free drivers you need. Just make sure you know what specific driver you're needing. Sometimes, they offer a free tool that makes the process easier by scanning your computer to determine that specific driver you're lacking, then find and automatically download it for you. Though it's always the best to check with the hardware manufacturer to avoid incompatibility issues that may arise.

The DVD drive will have nothing to do with it as the video + audio drivers wouldn't be functioning correctly

Have a look at http://www.vmware.com/support/ws55/doc/ ... ls_ws.html

You need VMWare Tools in order for it to function.

Good luck!

My apologies for misreading the question. Looking at the timestamp... it was pretty late for me :) I'll just blame it on my aging brain :)
