Post subject: anyone learning oracle ???
New postPosted: Tue Apr 26, 2011 5:17 pm

guys, it's kinda obvious for me to learn oracle. my course started with intro to oracle 9i. i was looking for oracle 9i to download so that i cud practice at home. but i guess 9i is too old to be found and oracle 11g is already there. i wasted several hrs after installing 11g on my system since i was not getting the 'sql plus' which used to b there with 9i for writing n executing queries.

r u learning oracle??? if yes, please suggest me how i shud proceed. i have started with basics. how can i learn n practice oracle using oracle 11g?

any help will highly b appreciated. thanks in advance ... :)

By learning Oracle, do you mean that you are learning SQL for Oracle? I'm not sure about the database installation side, but I frequently use Oracle's SQL Developer and modeling tool at work and I know that they're free. Install the latest iteration of Oracle and then try playing around with those 2 tools - they're quite helpful if you want to advance your SQL skills.

I don't think so. You have to connect SQL Developer to an already existing database.
