Hi, looking for a lap top, drawn towards the Acer Aspire. I want a good all rounder, nothing specific, I surf the net, do some photoshopping, have itunes, do video clips. A bit of everything really.

The Acer do so many, but there is dual core, quad core, i3/5/7/, inegrated graphic card of Nvidia (ap?). Some with more memory than others. I am so confused right now wish I have never started the search!!

Any suggestions and I really would be incredibly grateful. Been looking at the 5750 i3 with the Nvidia graphics card, 6gb and 500 whatevers memory. Afriend has the 5560 and loves it quad core.

Really, I want a decent lap top that is fast and just does most things well. Sounds like a tall order, but any help please, I am getting desperate.

Being a geriatric 'Silver Surfer'(well, bald actually) I am not very technical but I have just bought one of my staff (already computer savvy) a Dell laptop with an i7 quad core processor and Windows 7 HP and he is delighted with its performance. Out here (Middle East) we do find that the Dell and Acer ranges are very reliable, even in this environment, and competitive in prices with other makes. Generally we select what we want by visiting a large computer showroom, pressing all the buttons, and seeing what suits. Could you do that in your home town?
