Almost a year ago Rich
recommended me to learn .net. And today I thank him the most for showing me the right direction of choices...

Don't worry about making the perfect choice. Focus on becoming a good programmer that thinks like a programmer, engineer, and architect. The rest will come with time and you'll be able to pick up any language.
This was when I hardly coded. Now I code a lot, sometimes quite wrong, but still I love to do it. And my current focus is C#.net and Windows Presentation Foundation, and for foundation building, Data Structure and Algorithm. Did lot of C, little C++, some HTML, CSS (as needed, never really focused). Here's my first small WPF App, .net 4.0 compliant. The value it provides is completely "
useless" so don't pay heed to it

. Here it is for your comments
