I'm waiting for my DVD drive adapter to be delivered before i can do anything.
I tried installing in a VM but couldn't. I finally finished downloading the ISO (average 25kb/s) you pointed to thanks for that! :D
I'll keep you in the loop as i'll be bending your ear soon enough. :D
Can't wait for the guide btw. Will be a very interesting read (and a one of a kind!) ;)

You better try virtualBOX or parallels desktop for windows 7 you will see a lot performance benefits like direct3d and full 64 bit capability in your virtual enviroment. ;)

I had a great experience from both of these softwares. :D

I see that VMware has the option to change the allocated RAM. Does anyone know if this is possible in the free trial? I have it and it doesn't seem like it. I can't however find anywhere on VM's site that indicates this to be the case.

Thanks.

I think I should mention that I'm running Windows XP mode through VMware Player. [installed xp mode, then realized my processor doesn't have HAV (virtualization)]. Could this play a role in why it won't let me change the allocation in VMware? Do I need to make this change in allocation in my 'host' machine rather than in VMware?

I don't see why they would strip out this functionality. Make sure the Virtual Machine is completely OFF and not suspended/hibernated.

Any amendments you make to the Virtual Machine should be done so through the 'Guest system' not the 'host system'.
