How about writing a short storry e.g. "Why do I love Windows 7?" or "Why do I deserve to win the price"? or something similar, and the author with the most "thanks" gets the price. Voting is open for any registred user on mintywhite
But I'm not sure if it would work out how I imagined it ?!
Or the thing you guys used a while bach when the top "xx" posters get the price. need something a bit more.... catchy?

How about for the peeps, for the first one to make 250 usful posts gets an extra star automatically? when i say usful post i mean by helping other with their issues, posts that are just tips & trick/news/announcements etc dont count. or something along those lines anyway! I looked into quizes for the forum but as rsvr85 said that little thing like google would be too temping for many of you peeps!

Could you post/tell abt some software paid/free which would give complete details of all the active-running processes? The reason I'm asking is that I have some 60-65 processes running, and i'm not aware as to what they are for? Appreciate your help. Update: Guide Here [Rich]Thanks, Grr

Maybe the catagories could be a bit more specific to certain area's of windows, maybe it is just me but i find it a bit crammed in certain area's such as "windows 7" forum you have customizations in a sub forum under windows 7, As is windows tutorials. I think it would be better if windows tutorials and customizations should be in a seperate "forum" on the main index page menu at the begining along with tips and tricks. Would it be better to utilize sub forums for more "stickies/Pinned" useful articles? Looking through there could be some great changes within the main index forum to spread it out a bit. In windows software, there is a news article/link to software and should be split either news or software, ok it about software and would be more suited to a "news for software" forum maybe? So the idea i was looking at is to bring all the Good/Useful stuff on to the main index page to lure peeps in Remember, it just an idea!

Hi, You recently asked whether a Pocket Guide for XP would be useful. As a retured old fart, I do some volunteer teaching on Windows. Quite a large number of students are still using Windows XP. I believe they would benefit from a Pocket Guide! Regards, PatManOz
Update: As XP is now out of support, I have decided against supporting it on Windows Guides. Windows 7 really is great and, although many of us use PCs with Windows XP, I really think we need to move forward. I have a 9-year old AMD Athlon running Windows 7 with Aero so hardware usually isn't a factor with upgrades. [Rich]

I'd like to see a spot to write about Linux. I think you might increase your geek in the hood(Readers) I'm by far no expert but I do love my Linux and keep up with most user friendly distro's. Some Linux distro's have a big focus on younger kids, as young as 8. I'm a big advocate of pushing Linux towards the younger generation for various reasons. Safety being number one. Fun number 2. Windows leaves you wanting in either area. Update: We have a lot of suggestions for Linux; however, it's not a fit for Windows Guides and I'm not looking to add more sites right now. I really want to focus on Windows for the time being.
Perhaps you can pay these guys a visit: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions ... forums-50/ [Rich]

Hi everyone,
I have a lot of catching up to do on this thread. Please bear with me while I deal with questions and suggestions offered a long time ago. I'll be caught up soon, I hope!
Edit: Up to date. I've added a few drafts with post suggestions. Stay tuned.

I would suggest that you allow new users to reply when you send the initial "welcome" message and it says to reply if there are any questions. I dont even have a reply button. Am I missing something?
