Well ...... after much deliberation on the Vista UAC feature and reading lots and lots of Tech forums on various sites on this subject I decided to use TweakUAC.
http://www.tweak-uac.com/home/ - I didn't feel entirely comfortable disabling the UAC feature completely in Vista itself [I always err on the side of caution!!],but the UAC elevation prompts were starting to drive me crazy! .......
TweakUAC is a good "compromise" to the UAC "conundrum" and is only 84kB in size. Also,an icon can be displayed on the Start Menu,Desktop or Quick Launch in the taskbar, enabling you to turn UAC either on or off or in "quiet mode" [I use the quiet mode] - So if anyone is unsure about whether to enable/disable the UAC feature in Vista,I'd recommend this software!
Protected Mode is still "ON" ...... BUT - No more elevation prompts! Yippeeee!!
