+1 on Rich comments...For an average Joe, UAC is needed for those not familiar with using computers.

Exactly, UAC is just annoying....

Do this....., do that...., allow...

I keep my UAC set to default on Windows 7. It doesn't really bother me much. I have a great deal of knowledge with computers, and I know safe browsing habits for the internet.

I just feel better knowing I have that extra layer of security.

That was the first thing I turned off "UAC" I find it a pain, its just an obstacle for me, but i wouldn't recommend to anyone to turn it off as i do it for my personal use, I am the only person on this particular pc.

other pc's in the house have it turned on but not so it dull's the screen down though.

And i have just realized i have rekindled an old post, but still a valid question.

AND YES IN WINDOWS 7 CURRENTLY

I have an even better idea ......... instead of turning UAC off in Vista, I turned Vista off forever and got Windows 7!!
