I think its about time they stopped supporting XP. I think they are ending Vista support too soon though. Even though it is only for non-updated versions, they waited YEARS to stop supporting XP. XP was first released in 2001 and SP2 was released shortly after that. It's now 2010 and they are stopping that, but Vista was just released w/o any service packs a few years ago.
I suppose it doesn't matter; I have Vista SP2, so it doesn't affect me.

Microsoft is stopping support only for Windows XP SP2 and less so if wants to have windows XP then upgrade with SP3. For Vista user there is no need to worry...

Excuse my level of experise or lack of it, but how do I check if my Vista has SP2?
Recently (Jan 2012) I reset my Vista laptop to factory settings and then computer loaded (not sure exactly) about 1Gig of updates, but was there SP2 as well?

Hit the WinKey+R (run dialog box) Type winver and hit enter. It'll tell you exactly which version of Windows you're using. In my case Windows 7 SP1.
