Hi all-Could use some help, since I've not found any information addressing my question specifically.I partitioned my harddrive and now want to extend it,but the right click "extend" option is greyed out and not available. It is a basic volume and was formatted with NTFS.Does anyone know why this option is not available and/or if I can extend it another way?

I also find the disk management tool a tad confusing Make sure that the partition is empty, delete it, then extend your initial partition (probably C:) to full capacity. Shrink C: again but this time to the capacity you need and you should be good to go. Hope this has helped

Here's something I learned about Vista: you can only extend partitions to the right in disk management. If you have a partition on the left that you delete, sorry!, you can't combine it with your other partition. There are a lot of people on the forums who know a lot about partitions and free partitioning software, though, so it should be no problem.
