New postPosted: Wed Aug 12, 2009 3:24 pm

When ever I do a registry scan, registry search or virus scan, it causes computer to shutdown after about 5 seconds. Anyone know what's causing this ?

(Windows XP pro, SP3)

This possible that your memory is leaking. Uninstal your registry cleaner and your antivirus engine. Reboot and instal them again!

1. can be a virus like people said above.
2. probly the program is incompatible with the version of windows you are runnng.
3. you maye do not have the system requirments of this program.

Hope you fixed this problem.

In case it's a virus, try running and antivirus scan in safe mode. Also which reg cleaner/scanner are you using? Might be just software incompatibility.

Just use this online tool Virus Scanner.....

http://www.eset.com/online-scanner

That way, no installation are made. That way, you can investigate the problem, should there be any malicious code running.

Regards
