Retaining the correct bootloader is the only thing to worry about here. The link Bugsy posted seems to have it right (though different from what i'd do).
Be sure to have your installation media/live CD handy, just in case.

I recently bout a dell e6420 32bit with preinstalled W7 Pro.I then rebuild it to have dual boot with XP it worked for one week till I used EasyBCD to try and hide the XP side from the W7 side after I tweaked with the setting in this software.I can't log in XP there is \ntldr error. When I put in the XP disk for repair I wont be able to log in to W7.I try to follow this
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/windows-7-xp-dual-boot-pc-not-booting-in-windows-7/3b5403b2-84c0-4fd5-ba91-986c8c051a35
it didn't work and I tried this
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919529
still no cahnge only 7 but now I can see that there are two versions of Windows installed
I tried another one where I copied ntldr, boot.ini and the ntdetect from another XP machine but nothing worked
Can someone help
