A while back Rich and I were pondering starting a mintywhite XBOX 360 competition.
How it would work hasn't been decided on yet so i'm wondering how many of you would be interested in participting and if you have any ideas yourself as to how we could work it. I have a couple of ideas in mind but want to hear what you guys think.
If you have any ideas leave a reply to this thread and we can hopefully get the ball rolling.

FYI these are the games i own. Obviously the more people with the same game makes it a much easier operation.

I don't have a 360 but here are some thoughts:

I think the competition (at least the first) should be for one game that's popular. i.e. Halo.

From there, the rules would depend on the number of entrants, but a simple bracket system would yield a champion.

The game rules (I've never played Halo so this may not be possible) should be something like:
Best of three/five/seven kills in a one on one death match advances to the next round.

What are your thoughts?

I like that idea but it means everyone will need a xbox live gold account.

I think, Halo and COD is great.....It would statistically mean that a greater number of people would those games, but I am surprised UT (Unreal Tournament) was not used.


If the people own those two games I mentioned in the first sentence, it would be easier to setup an online DMZ network, and play against each other free.

I did this using UT for many years in the past.....Fun...

Would be interested for sure. Not a very skilled player but would give it a shot.

All of the CODs are extremely popular, so, if this happens, that would be a good choice to consider. I saw that you had COD4 in your list. A lot of people have that, but many upgraded to the new Modern Warfare 2. Just some thoughts.

I agree. Also as much as Halo is good, it is pretty much first person to shoot the other gets the kill.
As for the Gold issue the people who don't have gold could Ebay for a 48 hour card, I think they're like $1 or $2 AUD.
Unreal Tournament? Think I gave that to a friend a few years back...

Oh, guys I would love to join the competition but i don't even have a XBOX (I don't know any one around me having a XBOX except of my cousin) and my connection is very slow....

But it would be fun I guess
