Though i like the Ribbon UI (Office, Live Suite), it's not what i expected from Windows 8 & i'm a bit disappointed. More worrying is how they're going to implement the new "immersive, beautiful, fluid, fast & spacious" metro/Live Tile UI. Is it going to be like Ubuntu and have a "Classic" login? Will the desktop be sitting there all the time and we just have the Live Tiles 'overlaid'? What do you guys think? I didn't fully read the link but the "there would be concerns about reduced screen real estate" resonates with me. (also, who uses Explorer maximized?). I've recently been tinkering with W7's Explorer to be more minimalistic, not more convoluted!

Yeah, I'm not too impressed with the ribbon anymore (it came out in Office 2007). Remember 2007? That was like... 4 years ago. I was barely married, had no kids, hadn't built my current PC, didn't live in my current house. The ribbon belongs in Office, but not Explorer.
Hopefully there is a way to hide it at least. It's fugly.
I'm also (im)patiently waiting to see their implementation of the Metro/WMC UI within Windows.

That's so UGLY!!!! It should stay in WORD!! I actually liked Word 2003 better, it's more neat and less clustered and now it's going on Win 8 Explorer? Ridiculous.. UGH.. Darn MS...

I want to reassure customers that Media Center will definitely be part of Windows 8. No doubt about it. Knowing how strong the support for Media Center is among pre-release testers, we still have work to do to make sure the quality and compatibility with add-ins is what you would expect even in pre-release (as with any release of Windows, compatibility is a major effort and when we work on the underlying video engine, as one example, we have to make sure features that push these areas receive adequate coverage). http://goo.gl/qqOD6
