You know what get's on my nerves more than anything (apart from lmgtfy links) ...... how people; within hours of getting the dev preview, hack it for legacy functionality probably without giving the new start menu a decent chance. You want Windows 7's Start Menu? **** off and use Windows 7. Don't like Metro, stay with Windows 7; don't have the hardware, go to Win95; it's simple. I can understand hacks like changing the green background and the time & date format on the lock screen (yes, yes i have) but really, the Windows 7 Start Menu - ALREADY! Guaranteed by the end of the week the web will be littered with crappy apps that 'get Windows 7 this and that back in Windows 8'....... guaranteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!!!
@ Uvais - I assume you went through with changing the menu? If so, i also assume the new Start Dash now doesn't work? What about the WinKey? Any conflicts there? What if you're in the Start Dash, does the W7 Start Menu show over the top of does it cut back to the Desktop?

Will always be the way Took me a while to work up to Windows 7's new Taskbar and I still don't love it completely but I'm definitely used to it now. Some people just don't like change but I get what you mean

The Start Menu was one of the things i wanted almost straight away (and a nice multi-touch display). It felt like my thumbs had been cut off without it. I can see why people would want it, but this early takes the dooda a bit + the fact that once you're used to it, it's much quicker and more functional than the W7 Start Menu.

Stu, the WinKey works great in both changes in the Metro UI and Original Win 7 Start Menu. I have had no issues whatsoever.

Amen Stu. I hate that people are always fighting innovation and trying to step backwards. I would say little tweaks like that account for 75% of people's computer problems (the other 25%, of course, is looking at pr0n lol)
