Vista defragmentation duration

Piriform's software is always good and if you're into that kind of thing, deffragler is great free software and a solid recommendation. I just don't like my system cluttered with unnecessary apps, especially when it does no more of a better job (ie. @ defragging) than the one installed by default.

Odd. If i run defrag /? my options are prepended with "/" not "-" ???

Mines are too ! and I think that's normal.

Btw, I too am a "Clean PC" lover, Defraggler just one of the few apps that I love for it's nostalgia quotient. It was one of my first defragmenting apps

What do people need third party apps when build in Defragger does exactly what a third party app do/does? Is it just an imaginary of a NEED TO HAVE app that either makes you look cool or.... etc... There is nothing much of a difference between Defraggler and build in Windows Degragger... MHO...

But to add to Jeet's "Clean PC" comment, no one is as CLEAN as ME. LMAO!!!

But computer has to be running when scheduled defragmentation should start.

Might try to run defragmentation half way through the day, this should give enough time for operation to complete.

Why have pc on a running defrag schedule? Why not just defrag it once or twice a week, manually? :thumbup:
