Hey Guys, Saturday I had a chance to down load Win8, and did. My question is did I mess up by not portioning my hard drive. I don't see where Win 7 is any longer. Can I un-install Win 8. Thanks Bikrdad

In short yes you probably did mess up! You should have installed Windows 8 onto a separate partition away from your main OS. ie. eg. Windows 7 is on C: and Windows 8 on D: In your Windows 8 go to diskmgmt.msc (start menu) and send us a screenshot of it.

Sorry.

Sure there is, press the Windows Key on your keyboard or click in the bottom left corner - that's the new Start Menu. Easier - Press WinKey+R, type in diskmgmt.msc and hit enter. Go fullscreen. Press Prt Sc on your keyboard, open Paint and press CTRL+V. Save that picture, reply to the thread and upload it using the TinyPic box below.

Getting files overwritten is near impossible to recover, not even a true Forensic Analysis wouldn't recover. Just got to take precautionary steps. However, this is how we learn. Everyone above me in this thread all made valid points. The biggest pet peeves is backing everything up, which many neglected to do so....
