 Post subject: System Restore
New postPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 5:11 pm

I recently noticed that my system restore has somehow lost it restore points and when I go to that area Start>Control Panel>System and open System Protection I receive and error message and am here to see if this can be put back to its original state or if there is some sort of default mechanism to reset it. Below I have attached a screenshot of what I am seeing to help clarify the question. In the past I have deleted Shadow Copys to open up disc space because at one time I had only 80GB left out of a 575 (640) GB Hard Drive and as I do a lot of gaming and use space up on a regular basis this was alarming....come to find out it (the computer) was creating restore points once a week plus any Windows updates and it was using quite a bit of space and on top of that the allocation slider was set very high and I set that back to default (about 15% of disc space) and it freed up about 200GB and was working fine and that was several months ago but now out of the blue my latest restore points disappeared and prior to that I had about 6 or 7 showing before this happened. Thanks Uvais and I did click on the thanks this time...... that is what it was... in Services that function was disabled and reading all those posts I finally found the answer on the third page of posts....and it restored all the other restore points also. Funny how something as simple as that can cause all sorts of problemmos.
